The CP-1000 cipherPDA represents a major advance in secure telecommunications because it offers the flexibility of making and receiving secure calls on GSM and /or PSTN networks whilst still providing interoperability across the networks. When not in encryption mode, the cipherPDA functions as a conventional GSM handset and PDA. The unique design and adaptability of the cipherPDA means that it is easy to use with other networks too, adding further value to the equipment.

GME uses the peer-reviewed IDEA algorithm and generates unique encryption keys on a call-by-call basis. The algorithm was developed in Switzerland during the 1990's and has since been subject to peer-review, giving it the reputation of being secure.
